Grief is not something we can rush through. For most people, it is a process that takes time, and during this time, God is working in our hearts. We must be patient and allow ourselves to walk through this emotional journey. God does not simply distract us from our troubles; instead, He puts strength into our hearts so we can face our trials and triumph over them.
The burden of grief can seem overwhelming at first but as we allow God's Word and his people to minister to us we find the weight of grief begins to lift. We find that God transforms us into those who can speak words of life and comfort to others.
Romans 15:4: 'For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.'
In what ways can you allow yourself to be patient and embrace the process of grief?
Heavenly Father, grant me the patience to embrace the process of grief. Help me to trust that You are working in my heart and that You will provide the strength I need to overcome my trials. Amen.
